Ever wondered how your Ada Acupuncturist learned about acupuncture?

Carol is a retired U.S. Army / Texas Army National Guard officer with multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. She learned about acupuncture in 2011 when she was recovering from back surgery andI fell on ice during a major Virginia snow storm. That fall resulted in re-injury to her back accompanied by severe pain.

Carol's neurosurgeon was deploying to Afghanistan and decided to try auricular acupuncture to see if that would provide temporary pain relief until his return. The results of his inserting needles into her ears was astonishing and she was delighted to walk out of his office with minimal pain. That was in 2011 and the use of acupuncture has helped manage the pain level, stay out of surgery and improve her quality of life.

Carol's interest in relieving pain without the use of opioids and medication continues to grow as she see the benefits to her patients and their satisfaction. She works with veterans suffering from chronic pain or PTSD as a result of their military service, cancer patients who are either undergoing chemotherapy with its side effects or are in the final stages of their lives to help with depression and pain, and those that suffer from anxiety and stress.
